“Brave, humorous, but sexy, Nue York is a unique collection with wonderful energy. Simone is a rising star in the photography world.” - Michael Klug, publisher of Whitewall Magazine
THE PROJECT NUE YORK: Self-Portraits of a Bare Urban Citizen
"The point is not to be nude for shock value. I am simply an artist looking to humorously poke at some interesting thoughts about society and question who we are and embody as human beings inhabiting this home we call Earth. It’s now up to you to answer or raise these questions, as you like." - Erica Simone
THE ARTIST ERICA SIMONE
Erica Simone grew up in Paris, France and has been living in New York City for over 12 years. She is an internationally published photographer and artist, having widely exhibited her work in solo and group shows around the world. Her images have appeared in newspapers and magazines including National Geographic, New York Mag, The NY Daily News, The Wall Street Journal, PHOTO, PDN, NY Arts Magazine, Whitewall and Resource Magazine.
"Perhaps it's cliche to say 'less is more', but the saying rings true more often than not. This particular body of work is no exception to this rule. Less formality, less conformity & less clothing (none at all in fact), make Erica both the canvas and the composer of this brilliant work. The female form is a beautiful when bare. The question is this. When not concealed and covered, can you be comfortable with yourself? Perhaps not when exposed in public, but in private upon personal evaluation, are you foreign to your natural form? In my opinion, Nue York offers its audience the opportunity to find comfort with more exposure of ourselves and less concern for societal constructs." -AM
"Scanning through my Facebook feed one day, my scrolling stopped suddenly at the sight of a photograph. With a level of vibrancy and depth the image embodied everything I love about the Pacific Northwest.
I traced the photo to the source, www.kylekruchok.org, and found an entire collection of photography that captured the spirit of the scene framed with singular style. Kyle's work spans from landscape, to automotive, to architecture and in all cases is beautifully dramatic and brilliantly dynamic." - Allie Merrick
