Cliff Hiking + Sipping

What would you do at the edge of a 800' cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean?
At Cape Lookout on Oregon's coastline, I chose to do some hiking & sipping.

Here's a look at the hike & the sip:

Cape Lookout is found between Netarts Bay (where my favorite oysters come from) and the Pacific Ocean. On this trail, the forest unfolds around you with ancient conifer trees and views of the sea.

the sip

Prepare to raise your glass to a beautiful bottle of vino and an equality beautiful view. The immense Pacific paired well with the intense Gresser Vineyard 2009 Pinot Noir that produced waves of cranberry, Werther's Original, quince paste, mulberry & strawberry sauce.

After Peter & I had opened the wine,
we realized we forgot to bring something to pair it with.
We meant to pick up duck liver paté on our way,
but neglected to do so.
That said, Peter thought he'd improvise.
While escargot isn't his favorite,
he thought he'd make due.
Upon getting a bit closer, he changed his mind.

Yep. Slugs. They grow 'em big in Oregon.
