So, I have one word to describe the Grand Rapids Downtown Market: fantabulous. Yep, it's equal parts fantastic and fabulous. With 24 vendors in the indoor market hall, access to fresh fish, dried herbs and spices, hand-made pasta, fresh flowers, warm baked goods, coffee, artisan cheese & wine. Wine, too? Yep. That's what first peaked this wine girl's interest. I was please to discover, Aperitivo - a cheese, charcuterie & wine bar.
After making my rounds inside the market hall, I stopped for a round at Aperitivo (that fabulous place I just mentioned). Before heading home, I headed back over to another one of my favorite finds of the day - Fish Lads. As my guy, Peter, is the chef at home and not I, he selected a whole Red Snapper (fresh - not frozen). We had the great pleasure of meeting Jeff Butzow - the owner. Looking forward to catching up with him again, as he's going to be offering a raw bar. Oysters & Champagne, anyone?!
