I paddled tonight for the sake of paddling. I had no particular destination in mind. It mattered not where I ended up. All that mattered was the moment. Each stroke was intentionally slow, with a reduced pace that almost felt uneasy - until it didn't. I felt the weight of the water, heard each raindrop as it reunited with the river & smelled the onset of nightfall.
Some sing in the rain, but I prefer to be silent. I enjoy the delicate precipitation that precedes the return of the sun.
