When life gives you strawberries, make daiquiris. Strawberry jam is good, but I think we can all agree that daiquiris are better.
Here's my secret recipe that upon posting here is a secret no longer. As I rarely measure anything, I leave it to you to have fun with the proportion of each ingredient.
Allie's Signature Strawberry Daiquiri
- Myers's Rum
- Brown Sugar
1) Cut up as many ripe, juicy strawberries as you wish. I use 4 pints (as the quantity seems to sufficiently fill the blender).
2) Toss the strawberries into the blender and pour in as much rum as you wish. In my opinion, 'go big or go home'.
As I'm a HUGE fan of island rum (particularly those from Jamaica or Trinidad), I generally use Myers's Rum or the like.
3) Here's the once secret (but no longer secret) ingredient. Brown sugar. Add a solid amount of brown sugar to taste.
4) Blend it up. Pour it out. Tip it up.
