Epic expressions of Eastern Washington wine, bottled in beautiful limited releases. With depth of character and defined flavors, Fetcher Bay Winery, located in Washington's Bainbridge Island, produces a solid Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon worth taking note of. Specializing in Bordeaux blends and single varietals since 2008, Fletcher Bay Winery is located just 2 miles from the ferry and is very much worth the trek.
Fletcher Bay 2014 Syrah: From Yakima Valley, this is a serious wine to take your time with. Bound in 15.5% alcohol, this Syrah has sharp acid with edgy candied plum and salted toffee on the palate. The intention of the wine is embodied with intense aromatics on the inhale. Fletcher Bay 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon: Much love for Walla Walla and its Cabernet. My infatuation with the AVA was only increased with this example presenting dried blueberry, cranberry-ginger sauce and black licorice. Cheers to Eastern Washington wines in all their glory. |
