Intoxicating. While at the floral shop seeking out a stem to feature for my next 'flower of the week', I stopped scanning rows with the profound scent of one particular white option. It was a plant commonly referred to as 'Stock' (technically by the name of Matthiola). Aromatically awesome, this flower instantly reminded me of the Riesling I had opened earlier in the afternoon.
The 2015 Katy Michaud Riesling from Washington's Columbia Valley made a fabulous first impression both on the nose and on the palate. A medley of peach, apricot and nectarine, the scent of this lovely white reverberates on the palate with silky viscosity with beautiful accents of rose oil.
